January 31, 2010

Tom went to Costco yesterday...by himself, which is a VERY dangerous thing. He went for two things and came home with a trunk full of goodies. A box of oranges was something that made it's way into his cart. I'm really glad he picked them up because the only thing the girls want to eat these days are oranges.

Emerson and I had a little date today. Hannah went over to a friends house for a play date so I took Emerson to the Children's Museum. We didn't stay very long but we covered each "station" at least 3 times. I think she was just so happy to be free to run and play and touch everything, that she didn't really know what to do with herself.

A quiet moment before bed.

January 28, 2010

Before school today, we went to the park with JJ, Jacob & Caleb. It was supposed to be a sunny day like we'd had the three days before, but today it was cloudy and cold. Despite the cold the kids all had a fun time. They pretty much had the park to themselves.

I've been looking for a lap desk for Hannah for quite some time. She loves to write and to color and I figured it would be great for the car. When we were last in Spokane, Nana was nice and ordered one for her. She LOVES it. Thank you, Nana!

January 26, 2010

My last minute picture. I was talking with Jen and realized that I still hadn't taken my picture of the day. She suggested that I take a picture of Hannah's backpack...if it was just laying on the floor. How did she know that her coat, shoes & backpack all tend to be thrown on the floor in front of the door. Oh wait, she's got kids, that's how. :)

January 25, 2010

After a day like today, this smile was a welcomed reminder that a clean house isn't nearly as important as a happy family. Now, if I could remember this on a daily basis, I would probably be a more relaxed mom/wife.

January 24, 2010

Hannah got a new bike yesterday. We took it for a spin on the Centennial trail...my kind of Sunday.

January 23, 2010

We took the girls to see Princess and the Frog today. We figured that by waiting for it to almost be out of the theaters, we wouldn't have much of a crowd. Boy were we wrong. I felt bad for Emmie - we couldn't let her wander around because of all the people around us. It was a long movie for Ms. Em, but we managed and we all enjoyed the movie. Hannah told JJ today that she liked the movie but there was no way she'd be kissing any frogs. :)
I love how Emerson is eyeing the popcorn. :)

January 22, 2010

Today was our day to play with Caleb so that his mommy (JJ) could go help out in class. The weather has been unseasonably warm so we ventured outside for a little bit. Emmie loves Caleb, she calls him "her buddy". They make me laugh! You can't really see it in the picture but I love how she has dirt all over her face. She's going to be my little tomboy for sure.

January 21, 2010

R was the letter of the week in Kindergarten and each Thursday the kids are to bring a show and tell item that starts with the letter of the week. Hannah really wanted to bring a rainbow, and since she couldn't actually bring a real rainbow, she decided she wanted to make one. I love that on the clouds she put specks, for the rain. She was so proud of her rainbow and after school she told me that "the whole class loved my rainbow".

I was working with Hannah on writing her N's. We left the room for a minute and came back to this. I wonder who did it?

January 19, 2010

We finally signed up with Skype. It's seriously one of the greatest things and I'm sad that we didn't set it up sooner. The girls LOVE getting to see Nana when they talk to her. Anyone else want to Skype? :)

January 18, 2010

I should start out with a few explanations.

1. We get our milk delivered from Homemilkman.com

2. It gets delivered to Tom at work because Steve doesn't deliver to the Lake Stevens area.

3. Tom used to work for Steve & Molly as a milkman. I miss the good old milkman days...

4. We love our "home" delivery.

5. Tom always forgets to bring home our milk. I've told him to start putting his keys in the refrigerator so that he doesn't forget the milk. He can't get home without his keys.

On with the picture...Hannah didn't have school today because of Martin Luther King's birthday. After a trip to Costco with Papa & Nonnie, Hannah went home with them and I had Tom pick her up on his way home from work. Tom and I joked about him forgetting her and getting on the trestle only to remember and have to turn back around. I laughed when they came in and he put the milk on the counter. He was so nervous about forgetting her that he wrote himself a note. In all actuality it was probably a really good thing, seeing how crazy his work week has been. :)

January 17, 2010

On our way out of town we stopped by to see the Pohl's. Hannah saw the drums and insisted that we play some band hero/rock band (I'm not really sure what the difference is or which one it really was). Jen snapped this "action" shot. We had fun regardless of whether or not we made it past beginner. :) What I love the most is that it captures Emerson doing what she does. She has this thing that she does...it's almost as if I'm her very own personal "lovey". When she's sleepy or needs comforting, she rubs my neck. While it's sometimes annoying to me, it's what she does and I know she won't do it much longer. I've got to learn to appreciate it, right? :)

January 16, 2010

We took a quick trip over the mountains this weekend to help celebrate Kenny's 40th birthday. Such a fun, yet really quick trip.

January 15, 2010

We've gone from us reading to the girls at bedtime, to helping Hannah read to us at bedtime. I'm amazed at how much she's learned in just a few short months. She'll be a reading machine in no time. :) We are SO proud of her and we enjoy listening to her progress.

Nothing exciting today, just lots of little laughs with my little monkey.

January 13, 2010

I found this today and it made me sad all over again. I can't believe that it's been almost a year.

January 12, 2010

Emerson got this toy for Christmas. I love to watch her play with it. She starts out with all of the blocks out and rather than put them through the correct hole she takes off the top and drops them in. When I try to explain to her how to do it, she looks at me with a puzzled look as if to say "silly mom - why on earth would you do that when it's SO much quicker to just take the lid off". She cracks me up!

January 11, 2010

Hannah got Super Bee again on Friday which meant that he got to spend the WHOLE weekend with us. I wish I would have known ahead of time, because her face on Friday when I picked her up was priceless. She was so proud of her "super bee-havior"...so were we! Today Super Bee had to go back to school, but not before she filled in the journal. "Super Bee and I went to my sister's birthday party." It was the highlight of his stay.

January 10, 2010

I tried to get a picture of Emerson today in her training pants. I've told Tom that I think she's about the cutest thing when she wears them. I could seriously eat her up...look at that little bum and those legs. Oh my!
On the potty training front. She's doing really good as long as she's naked or has her training pants on. The second we put either a Pull Up on her or regular underpants she piddles. I'll never understand this little one. :)

January 9, 2010

We celebrated two birthdays today. The two December babies...Jacob and Emerson. Of all the pictures I took today, this is my favorite. I just love the way Jacob is looking at Emerson. He is so sweet!

January 8, 2010

It was crazy hair day at school today.

January 7, 2010

When it's not raining Emerson and I will walk to pick Hannah up from school. Today she wanted to ride her new tricycle that Santa brought her. Oh my goodness was that a hit. She LOVED it!

January 6, 2010

Tonight we worked on a math assignment that she worked on in class yesterday. Her class took inventory...Mr. Kusler's favorite math lesson. I had to agree with him, it was really fun to help out with (have I mentioned how much fun I'm having helping out in the classroom?!?). Hannah didn't get to finish in class because she was out working with Ms. Lincoln (Mr. Kusler's aide).

January 5, 2010

The Pohl family gave Hannah a calendar for Christmas. The girl LOVES her calendar! Tonight we had fun filling it in. The tricky part for Hannah is not smearing off the days as she writes on it. You'll notice that Friday is crazy hair day and Saturday is Emerson & Jacob's birthday parties. :)

Monday, January 4, 2010

January 4, 2010

Now that Hannah has a few Littlest Pet Shop toys, she's all about playing in her room. Emerson is just content to be in the same room as her.

January 3, 2010

I'm starting to worry just a little bit about my husbands obsession with the Pioneer Woman. Tonight he made her Chicken Pot Pie. It was good despite the obscene amount of onion that was in it.

January 2, 2010

Tom got a remote control helicopter from the Pohls for Christmas. We were all having fun with it until there was a collision with someones wild hair. SO much fun!

January 1, 2010

I missed 7 pictures last year in my attempt to take a picture a day. I've decided to give it another go this year. Tom ordered me the Project Life scrapbook and it came on Tuesday. The cuteness of it is part of the reason I am going to do it again. I am a sucker for cute scrapbook stuff, that's for sure. So without further adieu, I present to you Project 365 - Version 2010.
I figured the best picture for my second year of Project 365 should be my first picture of the new year. Madison, Jacob, Hannah, Sammie & Brad all celebrating 2010.
